My Continued Relationship with Germany
My interest in Germany and German language first arose from my German studies
in high school.
From then on I had a dream to study at a German University. I passed the
examination of the German
government sponsored scholarship through which I was able to study at
Hermann Rietschel Institute,
Technical University of Berlin from 1971 to 1973. Friendships I made during
my
stay in Berlin continue even now. During my first stay in Berlin I learned
of the work of German architect
Bruno Taut, who built 12000 dwellings in Berlin and went into exile in Japan in 1933
seeking asylum, and I have
been conducting research on him ever since.
