Heating Technology

I studied heating technology (steam heating, hot water heating, district heating and so on) at
Waseda　University. During my stay in Germany, I observed many Kachelofen (uniquely German fireplaces)
and took many photos. I would like to share my photos here and add some explanations. Kachelofen featured
not only  in the residences of royal family but also common people. From the very beginning this heating
technology also found a decorative function in the room. The style of Kachelofen and the pictorial design of
its tiles has continued to be adapted to the popular aesthetic trends through the ages including that of
Gothic style, Renaissance and other following styles.
